Fitness is important for your health and I bet you already knew that. But here are some news: legs day can be an important health factor for your brain.

The scientists from Kings College in London did a research and found out that well trained legs can improve your brain abilities. Isn’t that amazing?

Researchers followed sets of identical female twins in the U.K. over a 10-year period and the results amazed them. The one with the greater leg power (think: the force and speed needed to do a leg press) experienced less cognitive decline over the 10-year period and overall aged better cognitively.

They assume that legs are part of the largest muscle group in our body and the easiest to keep fit. This is amazing, isn’t it?

 

Raising your heart rate helps the brain to recieve more blood, which is better for your cognitive function—especially over time. This is why working out at least 3 times a week is very important for your body. You are in control over this, so you’d better keep yourself fit and healthy.
