Best Methods for Slowing Hair Loss and Restoring Lost Hair

There are three kinds of people in this world:

1.       Those who keep their hair forever

2.       Those who are losing their hair already

3.       Those who have lost most or all of their hair

Obviously, people are distinguished by far more than their hair. However, for this topic, those are the three kinds.

For those of you in the first category, enjoy your hair! For the rest of us, we really need to know how to slow down our hair loss troubles, not to mention restore what we already lost!

Sometimes, there is nothing we can do about our lost hair. If your hair follicle has died off, it will never grow hair again. On the other hand, there are times when your hair follicles go dormant because of stress or lack of nutrition. Dormant hair follicles can be revived with a few different methods.

The majority of our methods for slowing hair loss and restoring lost hair relate to the above statement, aside from the DHT reference. (More on that later)

Read on if you would like to know how to keep your hair for as long as humanly possible!

Healthy Diet

Your hair follicles require sustenance, just like the rest of your body. If you aren’t hydrating well or consuming foods that contain the vitamins you require, it can affect your hair too.

Dehydration is one of the more common diet-related causes of hair loss. Make sure you are drinking enough water every day. Forgetting to do this is a sure-fire way to leave yourself without hair!

The vitamins and minerals you consume are also important. Certain missed essential vitamins can also cause your hair follicles to weaken. Your hair follicles require a very precise diet of H2O and nutrients in order to function properly. Without these, your hair follicles may pause hair growth and later on even die.

De-Stressing

Stress causes more hair loss than you may realize. When we stress ourselves out, our bodies go into something called fight-or-flight mode. When this occurs, regular body functions can be interrupted. One of the interrupted functions is nutrient absorption. On top of that, stress will also impair your blood circulation, which is the primary means of getting the things your body needs.

Relieving yourself of stress is one of the best methods for slowing hair-loss and even recovering lost hair. Most of the hair-loss effects that stress causes are temporary. This means that your hair follicles aren’t dead; they’re just dormant. Once the cause of your stress has been eradicated, your hair will likely start growing again.

This does not mean that stress can’t cause permanent hair loss. If you experience stress regularly for months or even years, it most certainly will kill your hair follicles!

DHT-Blocking Shampoo and/or Conditioner

If you suffer from male pattern baldness, you should know that the primary cause of it is DHT. DHT heads for your hair follicles and stops them from receiving nutrients, eventually killing them.

You can use DHT-blocking shampoos and conditioners to keep the DHT in your system away from your hair follicles. We don’t have the means to remove or destroy DHT, but these products will keep them at bay for years, even decades.

A Doctor’s Appointment

If worst comes to worst and you can’t figure out why you are experiencing hair loss, go and visit your doctor. Professional help is always the right choice when you are unsure about a medical condition. Don’t be afraid to ask for their help. Your hair is a vital part of your body. You must do everything you can to keep it healthy!
