What Your Eye Color Says About Your Personality

Our eyes say a lot about us. They complement our faces, they can say a lot about what or how we’re feeling, and according to a study done in Sweden, our eyes can also say a lot about our personality.

Scientists at Orebro University in Sweden have recently conducted a study of 428 test subjects to determine if the color of our eyes says anything about our personalities.

The study, called Associations Between Iris Characteristics And Personality In Adulthood, explores the correlation between personality traits and iris characteristics. The study suggests that people with different eye colors tend to develop different personality traits based on these eye colors. Black Eyes: The study suggests that people with dark eyes are typically mysterious. People with dark eyes are also natural born leaders who tend to be more agreeable than most.

If you have dark eyes, you may also be better at certain sports that require accuracy and quick thinking (like tennis). The study also states that your ability to think fast is due to increased melanin in your iris, which allows connectors between your brain cells to communicate faster.

People with dark eyes also tend to drink less alcohol than other people.

Blue Eyes: blue eyes, on the other hand, lack melanin. Blue-eyed people are typically very psychologically and physically strong. In fact, a study done at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine involving 58 pregnant women ruled that women with light colored eyes (blue or green) actually tolerate pain during childbirth better than women with dark colored eyes.

The women in the study were also able to handle postpartum depression and anxiety better than other women.

Gray Eyes: If your eyes are this rare color, then you probably have a well-balanced personality. You have two opposite sides to your personality and you balance them well.

Having gray eyes means that you can switch from good to evil quite quickly. If your eyes are light gray, you are probably a very affectionate and caring person. You also probably keep your guard up around new people and do not let others in easily.

Hazel Eyes: People with hazel eyes are different and unique. The mixture of brown and green in these types of eyes means that people with hazel eyes have personalities that tend to be all over the place. People with hazel eyes are also very independent.

Hazel-eyed folks are also extremely confident and spontaneous. They, like people with dark eyes, are also typically very mysterious.

Brown Eyes: Brown is the most common eye color in the world. People with this eye color are typically more dominant, assertive, confident and agreeable. People with brown eyes also tend to be more respectful and loyal. If you have brown eyes, you may also find that you have trouble getting up in the morning. This is because people with brown eyes have poorer sleep cycles than most people.

Green Eyes: Green eyes are extremely rare, and tend to have a charm to them. Green-eyed people are typically more dominant and agreeable while strong and cautious at the same time.

If you have green eyes, you might be more of a creative person and are also able to do well under pressure.
