Things You Can Do At Home To Treat Cervical Spondylosis

Cervical Spondylosis is a common, age-related condition that affects the joints and discs in your neck. Here are some effective home remedies to help you get rid of the pain!

Cervical spondylosis develops from wear and tear of the cartilage and bones found in your cervical spine, which is in your neck. While it’s largely due to age, it can be caused by other factors: stress on your neck, certain neck injuries, incorrect posture while sitting or walking, smoking, being overweight, a sedentary lifestyle and some genetic factors.

Most people who suffer from cervical spondylosis experience chronic pain around the shoulder blades, stiffness in the neck, muscle weakness, headaches, pain in their arms and fingers, and a tingling sensation on their shoulders. Fortunately, you can use some effective home remedies to get rid of these symptoms. If the pain persists you must see a specialist. Try one of these!

1. Regular Exercise. Regular Exercise is very important if you want to keep your mobility and prevent the pain. Try to incorporate some simple exercises in your daily routine. Start with this one: rotate your head in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions, and nod the neck side to side from one shoulder to the other for at least 5 minutes everyday. Low-impact aerobic exercises are also very efficient. You can try swimming twice a week and you’ll feel much better.

2. Ginger Oil (Hot Compress). If the pain is persistent, mix some ginger oil and mustard oil in a cup and then heat the mixture. Soak a cotton cloth in the cup and then apply it as a hot compress on the affected areas. You should do this 3 times daily for the best results. Be careful if you have sensitive skin (try the remedy on a very small area).

3. Epsom Salt Bath. Epsom salt baths are very well known for the miracle effects they have on the human body. Epsom Salt is rich in magnesium which regulates the pH levels in the body. This can reduce stiffness, inflammation and pain in the neck and shoulders. Just add 2 cups of Epsom salt to a warm bath and soak in it for at least 15 minutes. Enjoy such relaxing baths 2 or 3 times a week and you’ll sense the difference.
